Oh my goodness. Best Chili Relleno I've had in years. We will be back for sure. Great service and awesome desert.

We have been on the search for the best Mexican food in Carson so we were excited to try this one out based on the reviews. Chips, salsa, and beans came out as soon as we were seated. The beans were served on a plate so it was hard to scoop it with chips. The salsa was excellent! Just enough heat.
I ordered a combo plate with a shredded beef enchilada, shredded beef tamale, rice, and beans. The rice had an odd flavor, I only had a few bites. The tamale had a very rubbery texture but the shredded beef had great flavor. The enchilada was the winner on my plate.
They give you complimentary sopapillas after your meal. They are drizzled with caramel and topped with whipped cream. A nice touch and they were fresh and warm!
This was not the worst Mexican we have had but unfortunately, we are still looking for "THE" place in Carson. -

On our way home to Reno from Dayton, my husband and I decided to have lunch in Carson City. We are always on the lookout for good Mexican food and El Aguila Real did not disappoint! The wait staff were young so I'm thinking this is a family owned restaurant. Both the young gentleman who seated us and the young lady that took our order were polite and friendly. I ordered the carne asada and a Chile relleno, my husband ordered the nachos deluxe. The food was very good and freshly made. It always makes me happy to get a fire roasted jalapeño on my entree. The meat was well seasoned and tender. The Chile relleno was excellent. My husband never makes much comment on the food he eats, however he polished off his nacho plate pretty fast. An unexpected surprise was the fried taco chip drizzled with honey and whipped cream we got at the end of our meal. We will most definitely return!

The food here is pretty great. The service is aweful! There was this chunky kid working that made the vibe of the place awkward and uncomfortable. He seemed to hate life and made us all very aware. Food was slow to come, servers argued with us at every order and we had to ask for refills and to get our sticky tables cleaned several times before it wiped down. I won't be coming back. Try going to San Marcos instead.

We were hoping to really like this place since it's so close to home, but it was pretty meh. Uncomfortable atmosphere, nice waitress, chips were pretty icky seemed super stale. Salsa was alright but served with weird watery small amount of beans on a tiny plate. Our food looked good when it came to us, but it was all pretty full, bland, no personality at all. I had to salt and pepper my enchiladas just to give it something. Prices were not fair, too high for what it was. I would expect this quality out of a drive through. We were curious, we tried it, won't be back again.
